American
National Insurance of Texas (ANTEX) is
a member of the American National Insurance family
of companies. In many areas of the country,
America National Insurance offers a tremendous value
on their Health Savings Account products.
They
offer two HSA plans: HSA Complete and the Catastrophic
Complete. The distinction between the plans
is the Amount of Coverage. The Catastrophic
Complete is meant only to cover a major medical
event that involves hospital confinement, such as
surgery, organ transplant, etc. The HSA Complete
functions like a typical health coverage plan and
coverage includes events such as doctor's visits,
emergency room visits, major surgical procedures,
etc.

This
information is presented only as a very brief overview
of some of the benefits of this plan, and is intended
only for general education. The amount of benefits
provided depends on the plan selected. Premium will
vary with the type of benefits selected. These plans
contain exclusions from and limitations of coverage.
Please see the product brochure for more complete information,
as well as information about terms of renew ability, preexisting
conditions, out-of-network penalties, and notification
requirements. Plans are subject to health underwriting.
To be considered for reimbursement, expenses must qualify
as covered expenses. Expenses are also subject to
reasonable and customary limits, unless you use a network,
and all other policy provisions, including determinations
of medical necessity.

Coverage
Synopsis:
If
you choose to have more comprehensive coverage then the
HSA Complete plan is the plan to choose as it covers
most doctor's visits for illness or injury, wellness visits
and prescription drugs as well as your more serious events
such as surgery, organ transplant, and cancer.
If
you are just looking for an emergency plan then Catastrophic
Complete is the plan for you. It covers any services
that involve hospital confinement or surgical procedure,
including outpatient surgery. It also covers an annual
mammogram that has an expense in excess of $25, but the
plan does not cover other preventive services.
With
both plans you can choose whether to have an Indemnity plan
(this covers any provider) or choose a PPO network and save
on monthly premiums. You can also choose to have a
100%, 80% or 50% coinsurance policy and choose the deductible
that is right for you and/or your family. With each
deductible there is a maximum amount you will pay out of
your own pocket and then American National will pay 100%
of the remaining cost up to your choice of a lifetime maximum.
You also receive automatic coverage of a newborn, adopted
child or a child who is placed with you for adoption for
the first 31 days, and the child may be added to your policy
if notice is sent within that time frame.
These
plans are HSA-qualified, allowing tax-deductible contributions,
tax-deferred interest and interest free withdrawals.
This HSA works much like an IRA, only you may use your savings
for qualified medical expenses your health plan does not
cover, such as your deductible, contacts lenses, or certain
types of alternative medicine. If you do not use these
funds, they simply accumulate, with interest, for distribution
upon your retirement.

Rates:
Rates
vary based on age, zip code of residence, optional riders,
and other factors. One of the primary objectives of
American National is to provide insurance at the lowest
possible cost. In order to do this they will consider
information from various sources such as reports from doctors
or hospitals you may have visited as well as a physical
exam if required.
When
you run an instant quote you will get Preferred and Standard
rate quotes. To qualify for Preferred rates you need
to be in very good health i.e. no pre-existing conditions,
chronic or weight problems.
